Coasters, anyone?

How 'bout a new font?  We'll see if it shows up on my blog.  Sometimes something as simple as a font will set my blog awry and create such havoc...a simple font! {Well, it did mess up my blog, so I've changed it back...I posted this from Photobucket, and I just never have any success changing the font from there...}

Here are two coasters I finished yesterday.

Hosted by Photobucket.com

They're actually for a Coaster Exchange (for which I'm late).  The pattern on the right is one I just made up as I went.  The one on the left is one designed by Kimberly Andrew.  This sweet pattern can be found here.  The "thread" I used was Aunt Lydia's "Shimmer Fashion" in Lt. Blue.  This is a fine sport weight yarn.  I'd never seen this before but found it in a newly discovered LYS (local yarn store) in the clearance basket.  There was a marked down price on it of $2, which I thought was close to normal price, but how should I know when I've never seen this stuff before!  Imagine my delight, though, when I was told by the owner herself upon checking out that it was only $.50!  Wow!  I wished she had had some more!  It's really quite pretty and if I had enough I'd make a sweater with this stuff!  It's 64% cotton and 36% rayon.  As it is, I'm just using it for small projects...like coasters.  And I did just whip up a bookmark with it, too, while reading various blogs tonight.  Does anyone else get lost in time just sitting and reading blogs and clicking on blogs mentioned on one blog and then clicking on blogs mentioned on the next blog, etc etc etc?  A time waster, reading blogs endlessly, and yet so much interesting news and information on all those blogs out there.  And I'm just talking about crocheting and knitting blogs!
