Is it Friday already? Wow - where did the time go.
I finished the Lion Brand Lion Chenille Red Envelope Bag this morning, though it is neither red nor made with the chenille. Had problems figuring out the pattern initially, so in order to avoid frogging (rip-it, rip-it) the chenille down to a thread, I used a different yarn. But don't ask me what this stuff is, 'cause I don't know!
Yesterday morning I had completed almost all of the back of the purse when I realized I did not have a square shaped piece. It was more like a trapezoid. And I thought to myself "Wow, my tension sure is much looser than it was yesterday." Not! I had 2 extra stitches on there! So by the time I ripped it back to the correct number of stitches, I frogged the entire back portion that I'd just finished, plus a few rows from the front portion! I was pretty frustrated about all this work for naught, but I just jumped on it again, and was more careful to count my stitches EACH row (there were only 27 stitches each row after all). Now it is completed, except for the button, and weaving in the yarn tails. So I guess in reality then, it is not completed...
Oh, and not only did I have to rip-out most of my work yesterday, and rework it, but yesterday afternoon, I took it up again and noticed my cone of yarn was spotted brown! What???? Coffee spill. I don't drink coffee, btw. And neither do my children. I won't name names, but I know who the guilty party is. After all that frustration yesterday over this purse, and then to be almost finished with it, and see THIS, coffee stains..... Thankfully, I didn't have many more stitches to go, but I do see an obvious brown spot in the handle. I didn't want to wash this, not knowing what type of yarn it is. But now, not only will I have to wash it, and see what happens, but if the coffee doesn't come out, guess what I'm going to do? No, I'm not gonna throw it away! Not even across the room! It is going to get thrown in a coffee pot! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
So, when I do REALLY complete this purse, I'll show a picture again. Then you'll see if it had to take a dunk in the coffee pool... a beige bag won't be so bad...

Don't you just hate days like that, when it seems like you have to take three steps backwards to get anywhere? Glad you got through it, and your bag is almost done!
Can't wait to see the finished product...I bet it will be lovely in a light brown coffee color. ;-)
