FO! Cat Rug

I just put the progress bar up last night over there in my right-hand column, and already I get to update it! Remember this? (if you've been keeping up with my blog Image hosted by Photobucket.com)

You all probably thought my cat rug was just a simple round rug, right? Nope... it turned into this...

And finally, in these wee hours of the morning, it looks like this!

Isn't it lovely? I'm tempted to keep it myself! But alas, I had plans for this going to my Secret Pal over at Crochetville. So if you see a picture of my Cat Rug show up over at Crochetville on the Secret Pal board as a "Thank You", don't tell where you saw it! Let's see if my Secret Pal is reading my blog....Image hosted by Photobucket.com Hey, SP, if you figure me out, let me know you know! And everyone else, if you figure it out, you'd BETTER NOT TELL! That is so adorable! You did a great job and what a quick project!

Where did you get the pattern and what yarn did you use?

Thank ya'll for the lovely comments! To answer Juli's question, the rug is 19" across from the outer edge of ear to it's tail x 14" high. To answer Heather's question, the pattern I used for inspiration is in Annie's Crochet Newsletter #53, Sept-Oct 1991. That's the issue with the lovely collie afghan on the cover. The pattern calls for rug yarn, but I just used two strands of RH Giant (the pounder) in Baby Peach (I might use 3 strands next time) and I edged it in RH Light & Lofty in "Puff" color. I think this rug would look really cool crocheted in only the Light & Lofty.

This is so adorable! Would you be willing to exchange the scanned in pattern for one of mine which is a wonderful irish crochet fisherman afghan?
